Send to another iPad

Use In Trays to copy comics from one iPad to another. Unlike the other ways of sharing in Comic Life, In Trays transfer the actual comic files to the receiving iPad.

Note: To use In Trays, the sending and receiving iPads should be connected to the same WiFi network. A maximum of 16 iPads can be connected at one time.

To receive a comic in an In Tray:

  1. In the My Comics view, tap in the toolbar.
  2. Choose In Trays....
  3. Tap the + button in the toolbar.
  4. A small In Tray appears. You can change the In Tray's name. This name is displayed on other iPads to identify this In Tray.
  5. Tap Done to create your In Tray.
  6. A large empty In Tray appears on your screen, indicating your In Tray is activated and awaiting comics.
  7. As new comics are sent to your iPad they appear in this In Tray.
  8. Once you are done receiving comics, tap Done in the toolbar.
  9. A menu for dealing with the comics in the In Tray appears. Choose one of these options: add the comics to an existing collection, create a new collection with the contents of the In Tray, or discard the comics in the In Tray.
  10. When done, your In Tray disappears.

To send a comic to an In Tray:

  1. In the My Comics view, tap in the toolbar.
  2. Choose In Trays....
  3. Any In Trays that are open for receiving comics on nearby iPads are displayed.
  4. Select the In Tray to which you wish to send comics. The In Tray will slide down to the bottom of the screen, allowing you to choose comics from your collections.
  5. Tap and hold on a comic to select it. (It expands and begins to pulse to indicate you can move it.)
  6. While continuing to hold your finger down on the comic, drag it down to the In Tray and release your finger over the In Tray. Your comic is added to the In Tray and copied over to the recipient's iPad. This process is not instantaneous. An indicator is provided to let you monitor progress.
  7. Once the comic has been transferred the progress indicator disappears and the In Tray can be released. Tap the Close button to disconnect your iPad from the In Tray. You can reconnect to the In Tray by tapping the In Tray again on the In Trays view.
