Importing a comic

Note: Only Comic Life Archives may be imported into Comic Life. If the file you are attempting to import is grey, it is not a valid Comic Life Archive and can't be imported. If you're trying to import a comic from Comic Life 2 for Mac OS X - choose "Comic Life 2 Archive" when saving to make it compatible with Comic Life for iPad.

Comics can be imported on the 'My Comics' screen by tapping on the '+' button in the navigation bar. A popover menu appears. Import options are listed under 'Copy From:'.

iTunes:

Tip: Files may be deleted from the iTunes importer by swiping your finger across the filename in the import table and tapping the delete button.

  1. Tap iTunes.
  2. A view appears with a list of files.
  3. Tap a Comic Life Archive to import it to the current collection.

Dropbox:

  1. Tap Dropbox.
  2. Comic Life suspend and a Dropbox login will appear in Safari or the Dropbox app if it is installed.
  3. Enter your Dropbox username and password and tap 'log in'. If you do not have a Dropbox account, you can create one by tapping the link 'Need a Dropbox account?' at the top of the login screen.
  4. Dropbox will inform you that Comic Life wants access to a folder in your Dropbox account, tap 'Allow' to continue.
  5. Comic Life will resume and a tabled list of files will be present.
  6. Tap a file to import it to the current collection

WebDAV:

Tip: Remote files can be deleted from the WebDAV server by swiping your finger across the filename in the import table and tapping the delete button. Folders can not be deleted through Comic Life.

  1. Tap WebDAV.
  2. The WebDAV Sign In view appears.
  3. Enter the server address and your username and password (if any) and tap the 'Sign In' button.
  4. A list of files and folders on the server will appear.
  5. Tap a file to import it to the current collection.
